Perfect for fans of Jasmine Guillory, this laugh-out-loud #OwnVoices story proves that sometimes the least perfect arrangement can lead to something perfect for them.

Rashida Howard has never been a one-night-stand kind of woman, but she has good reason for making an exception with Elliott after meeting him in a bar. Cliché? Yes. Utterly amazing? Absolutely. Regrets? None.

Elliott Quinn is a workaholic. The one night he decides to break his routine, he has an encounter with the woman of his dreams. But no matter how amazing they are together, work will always come first.

Both of their lives get turned upside down when they find themselves on opposite sides of an ongoing fight between Elliott’s company and Rashida’s community. Though their chemistry is undeniable, neither of them will risk their integrity…or their heart.

And just when they think they might have found a solution that benefits both sides, they uncover a secret that will change everything.

Main Character/s

Elliot was not your typical billionaire’s son nor is he a typical businessman. He wasn’t arrogant like most of them and I appreciate that about him. I also love the fact that he was the one who fell first and that just hits differently.

As for Rashida, she is a really great character. I love how she’s so family-oriented and really treasures the place/house she grew up in. I also love how dedicated she is would be do anything to save her home, even to go against the one person she found a connection with.

Side Character/s

I really had a huge laugh with all the side characters, from Rashida’s mother, grandmother and the rest of the community. I know how this scene would be so weird to say as a favorite, but it is. The scene in which Elliot got hospitalized after being run down by a senior citizen with poor eye-sight driving a car. So morbid but that scene opened up really great things about the community.

Plot

As much as this plot is very predictable, I love how the author delivered. I didn’t expect that the broody male would be soft and would give it all up just to please the girl he just met. I also love the dynamics between them. Plus I love how things ended and how Mr. Quinn turned out to be kind as well. Who knew that he would made such decision in favor of the community.
