Hello bibliophiles! Happy Release day to the third film that I’ve been waiting for since last year! And I just think I need to write my thoughts about the movie. First off, I just wanna say that I really love the movie and it is a better sweet moment when the credits roll because it is the end of a series that I adore so much.
If you know me, you’d know that I adore this series so much and I was over the moon when this series was tapped to be adapted into a movie. Every year I have been looking forward to every February.
#1 The Korea Trip
If you have read the third book, Always and Forever, Lara Jean, you’d know that the Korea Trip was a gift by his father for Lara Jean and her sisters to take before she goes to college. But in the movie, they decided to have it before senior year and with the entire family, including Trina. I personally love that little montage because it is one of the aspects that made the movie or the books feel so much more Asian. I really love that they didn’t forget their mother and searched for that padlock that Eve and Dan left in Seoul Tower. That scene was just perfect and really heart warming.
#2 Kitty’s Little Boyfriend
This particular scene with Kitty meeting a Korean guy was so cute and it was really unexpected because she had a little thing with Dae. It’s just so cute. Who would have thought that Kitty would find her guy in this film. If you read the book, you’d know that didn’t happen. Regardless of that, I really liked this scene. Plus the scene in which she “broke up” with him because he doesn’t like Harry Potter and find thinks that “it’s so dumb.” That gave me a laugh.
#3 The Woah Woah Woah Book Signing
I really adored this scene because in the first movie, Peter has said “Woah, Woah, Woah” countless of times and I really adore the fact that that little detail was included in Lara Jean’s daydream of her future with Peter Kavinsky.
#4 Chrissy at Prom and her romance
I like seeing Chris at prom and her being with Trevor. I just find it really cute and OMG! Chrissy looks so beautiful in her dress. Who would have thought that Chrissy, from the book, would be interested with dating much more going to prom. I really adore how she found Trevor and really had a connection.
#5 Gen and Lara Jean’s Friendship
At the end of the second film, we see Gen and Lara Jean talk about their friendship in middle school and how Gen and Peter have been seeing each other is because of her parents splitting up. We can see that somehow, they both have forgiven each other and we get to see much more of them in the third film. I love seeing them happy and forgetting about how a boy had somewhat broke their friendship. I also like the possibility that Gen and Lara Jean would be much closer when they are in NYU.
#6 New Contract
I like how they ended the entire film with a new contract that would bind Peter and Lara Jean even if they are miles away. I really like that because in the last book, there was not much closer for them. We just knew that they would end up together and apart. I also adore how Peter shared their meet-cute because I could clearly remember Peter asking that same question at the first part of the book and movie. Glad they didn’t just brush over that particular moment.
So that’s about it for today’s post! See you on the next post. I might share another post about this film because we will no longer see Peter K and LJ on screen.
