Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s prompt are about Books Written Before I Was Born. That topic is not something I want to talk about, so let’s just talk about the books I read that was written before I became a bookworm. That is not a far stretch as I became a bookworm in 2010. So that would be a good list to check out.

#1 Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn
These books were published around 2000, in which the first book The Duke and I was first published. I personally didn’t know the existence of these books if it weren’t for the well loved and talked about TV show on Netflix. I didn’t plan to read the books as I thought it would be too hard to read historical fiction books, but lo and behold, I read it and now I’m on the fifth book. I adore the books so much that I just want to read the entire series before March!

#2 The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I heard about these books when I became a bookworm in 2010 but I was not invested in it too much to want to read it back then. So it was only in 2020 that I pushed myself to read the trilogy and I’m glad I did because I adore it so much. I appreciate how the fandom loved Katniss and the entire Panem. I wished I read it sooner but it was never too late to read the trilogy because it is still well-loved right now.

#3 The Clique by Lisi Harrison
This was the series that opened my eyes to reading and appreciating reading and learning. I bought book 6 and 7 in 2010 and read it without knowing that those were book 6 and 7. So I made it a mission to slowly collect the books and read them in order. I managed to collect books 1 to 9 and glad that booksale had them. I love this series even if it is too young for me and it is too problematic at times.
#4 The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
This series is well-loved but I have mixed thoughts and emotions about this one. I managed to get into the 5th book but I have not read the last book, still deciding to read it. But I have read and loved the prequel, The Infernal Devices and that makes me want to continue and read the next series or trilogy.

#5 The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jennny Han
I was able to read this series last year and really loved it. I knew about this book for a long while as it is by the same author as my favorite contemporary book. I really love the two books that I have already yet. The third book will be read sooner than later.

#6 Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
I read the first 3 books of this series back in 2010, the moment I became a bookworm. I really love the story and really want to read the fourth until the sixth book. I need to refresh my mind with what happened in the first three books because I honestly cannot remember every single detail right now.

#7 Let It Snow by John Green, Mauren Johnson and Lauren Myracle
I finally read this book after a friend was selling their set of books and this was one of the books in that bundle. I read it during Christmas season and I really enjoyed reading it. Plus the movie was coming out around that time. So glad that I read this even if it is very late in the game.

#8 Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
This book was one of the book bundles I mentioned previously. I really enjoyed reading this book and the entire series. But thinking about it again right now, this book is very problematic and everyone is talking about it right now. I can see that and it’s kinda sad because I thought this was really great. Oh well, the other companion books were great.

#9 The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
This was the series that I felt like International books were too much for me because of how huge the books in this series are. And I was able to read the books cover to cover of the huge 4 books in Grade school. Who would have thought that someone who is not a huge fan of reading, I managed to read that fricking series!

#10 Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
After so many years, I finally got the chance to read this series. I never thought I would read this series because the entire world is just too much and a lot. I would be so behind but last year in July, I finally gave in and read the books because of some Filipino bibliophiles organized a readathon for the entire PJO books.

Thank you so much! I couldn’t think of a book written before my birth that is really worth of sharing or that I am passionate to share about.
