I stumbled upon this tag at Riddhi @ Whispering Stories and I just loved this tag! So if you did or didn’t know I love music and I listen to it even if I am reading a book. Music and books are just two of my favorite things. So it is a given that this tag is going to be a great one for me.
MY JAM: A song you have to listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it before and A book you’ll never get sick of
Two of Us – Louis Tomlinson
Ever since this song was released, I have adored it because of how deep this song is and how great as a songwriter Louis Tomlinson is. Spotify Wrapped also proved that this song was my go-to in 2020. It seems that I have listen to this song 200 times in 2020 and that is beyond for me.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
The day that I read this book for the very first time, I knew that I love this book so much. I have already reread it already thrice if not four times. I will also be rereading this this year right before the third movie, Always and Forever, Lara Jean, gets released. I have no clear idea when it is going to be released, but it will be this year because the paperback movie-tie in book is getting released this year.
THROWBACK: A song that reminds you of the cringiest time in your life and A book you read that you wouldn’t like if you were to read it now
What Makes You Beautiful – One Direction
I would say that this song really started how cringe-y I have been since this song was released and how I started being a huge mess over this boyband. But I just have to say that this song just brings so much memories of those days.
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I planned to read the next books in this trilogy a few years ago but last year, I have decided to let go of the books and sold it because I have no interest of reading the books anymore. I don’t think I would enjoy the first book if I read it this year or right now.
REPLAY: A recent song that you have on repeat and A recent favorite book
Unsaid Emily – Charlie Gellispie (Julie and the Phantoms)
So last October I watched this Netflix Original show Julie and the Phantoms and the sole reason why I found out about it is because I saw a clip on Facebook with this song. At first I didn’t know how heart breaking this song was until I watched the show. And among all songs in the show, this one hits different and I have listened to it in repeat and would just watch episode 8 over and over again just to see this song performed/sang.
One Day in December by Josie Silver
I read this last month and I adore it so much. It is different to the other books I have read last year. It made it much more my favorite when I found a second hand copy at a local bookstore in the city. The premise of this book was really great and it really put me on a romance feels.
GETS ME: A song that is literally me and A book that is me in book form
If I Could Fly – One Direction
I don’t know if there is a song that would perfectly describe who I am and what not. So I decided to have this song because this song just hits different to how I feel and have accepted things in life. This might be a love song, but it can be translated to any relationship between anyone, may it be with your friends or family. As long as this song speaks about that, that’s about enough.
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
So this book is not really me, as in not how I dated someone with a disability but it is more about what Sydney went through with her so called best friend. This topic was the sole reason why I read this and why I discovered and loved Colleen Hoover. I had somewhat of the same experience of how a friend of might cheated with someone I had a thing with. But that is no longer bagging me. I just wish that never happened and I wouldn’t have this empty feeling of losing a lot of friends once college came along.
WUT: A weird song that you liked anyways and A unique book that stuck out to you for some reason
Watermelon Sugar – Harry Styles
This song is personally weird but I cannot help it but really love it. I have fun listening to it and I think it made me love Harry Styles even more and really get into the world of Harry Styles. This song really pushed me to get fruit earrings, specifically a strawberry and watermelon earrings. That’s how deep I’ve gotten into this solo stan world.
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
I have seen a couple of movies or tv shows with this concept but actually reading a book about it is really great. This concept can be boring if the authors were not a duo because creating different scenarios can be brain draining. But Christina Lauren made it happened and I adore every time Mae restarts the entire Christmas trip. Plus this book’s main character is my name twin (well I go by Mae more than Rose nowadays), so that is a bonus for me.
LET’S GO: Pick your best pump up song and A book that inspires you
Up All Night – One Direction
This song is very old but I adore it and makes me jump up when ever it is blasting on the speaker or my earphones. I just get so hyped up listening to this song and that is just one of the One Direction songs.
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
I am more connected to this book because I am plus size and I adore pageantry but never apart of it. But I just love seeing how the pageantry have made plus size women feel awful about themselves. I know that being plus size can be unhealthy but not all of us has the privilege to be smaller because of their personal health conditions that hinders being smaller.
CHILL: Your best relaxing song and A book you’d curl up with on a rainy day
Moral of the Story – Ashe feat. Niall Horan
I first heard this song on the emotional scene in P.S. I Still Loved You movie on Netflix and didn’t really mind it until quarantine happened. Mr. Niall Horan announced he collaborated with Ashe. He was going to sing (he also made a little twek to the lyrics) the second verse. I was excited and so happy for both of them. Even if this song is do deep and actually talks about divorce, it is still a very relaxing song to listen to.
Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West
Any Kasie West books to be really honest. Her books are just so easy to read and very cliche but worth every read. It is my go-to when I am feeling under the weather or when a slump is coming and I need to not let it come or else things would be worst for a few weeks or months.
ADDICTING: A guilty pleasure song and A light, trashy read you can’t help but love
Talk – Why Don’t We
This song is very underrated and I just adore it so much. I love this song and it very addictive. But there are other songs that are addicting but I don’t want to share a lot of One Direction, so a 1D looking band would be a good replacement. I love these boys and adore their songs more than ever.
The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass
This series has a very love-hate relationship to some readers. I adore this book no matter how awful some readers say it is. I just love dystopian books that deals with royalty and this one just fits the hole. But I have to say that the first three books are my favorite and prefer those than the last two books of this series.
NOSTALGIA: A throwback song you look back on fondly and A book you read and loved when you were young
Towers – Little Mix or Move – Little Mix
These songs reminds me so much of the fun times I had in High School and my High School friends. Especially Move, we had fun copying the dance moves and randomly dancing it when the song is played or when we play it. And Little Mix plays a huge part in my high schools days with One Direction.
The Clique by Lisi Harrison
This series reminds me when I bought a book for the very first time in Grade 6. I was never a reader growing up and when I started enjoying reading I only borrowed books from friends and classmates. The Clique series was the first one I bought with my own savings. So it is really a well loved book and I have been reading and collecting the books since then. So that says a lot with this book.
That is about now for this very late book tag. Consider yourself TAGGED if you see this book tag!
